Other information regarding fees:

  • These fees are based on what is usual for psychologists (doctoral level) with my level of experience, education, and training in moderate cost of living areas in the U.S.

  • You can receive a superbill if eligible for reimbursement according to your insurer’s policies (see next section below).

  • Reduced fees for those with financial need: In order to make my services more accessible, I have a set number of openings in my practice for reduced fees for individuals from lower income backgrounds who are facing financial hardship, using a scale that I can share if requested. At this time, all reduced fee slots are full and will be for the foreseeable future.

  • If a reduced fee or sliding scale option is needed, please visit Open Path Collective

Consultation & Trainings: Vary, packages and proposals are custom designed. Please contact Dr. Jeannine to discuss your needs and for a custom proposal.

about insurance & reimbursement

For many reasons, many therapists in private practice choose to not take insurance. Dr. Jeannine does not accept insurance in her practice, but can be seen as an out of network provider. She can provide superbills that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement according to your policy, if you have out of network benefits and are eligible.

  • If you are unfamiliar with your benefits and this process, please contact your insurer before we set up a consultation. Here are some questions to ask:

    • Do I have a deductible?

    • Is Telehealth covered? Are there any session or other limits?

    • What can I expect to be reimbursed for a therapy session provided by a psychologist (doctor)?

      • Individual therapy procedure code is 90837 or 90834

      • Couples and family therapy procedure code is 90847

      • (Note: you can ask about reimbursement for services from a doctor/ sometimes called “physician,” not a master’s level therapist. Insurances typically have different pay scales/reimbursement rates for doctoral vs master’s level therapists, where reimbursement is higher for psychologists or doctoral level therapists).

    • What is the process for reimbursement? How long will this process take?

  • You are responsible for contacting your insurer to learn about your benefits and the process as well as submitting your paperwork. You are responsible for timely payment of services regardless if you receive reimbursement. Dr. Jeannine cannot guarantee reimbursement. Please also contact your insurance company to inquire about your out-of-network benefits before we set up phone consultation.

  • Please note that I do not accept Medicare or Medicaid in my practice, and due to federal restrictions that are meant to protect beneficiaries, I am unable to see beneficiaries of these plans in my practice, even as an out of network provider.

you have a right to a
Good Faith Estimate.

In January 2022, a new law called the No Surprises Act went into effect that requires healthcare providers to share with patients that don’t have insurance, or choose not to use their insurance, what is called a Good Faith Estimate (GFE). This outlines what you can expect to pay for the services you receive, and is intended to protect individuals from surprise billing. Dr. Jeannine will provide you a GFE upon setting up our first appointment. For more information about the please visit: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
